The Question

Two numbers have a sum of 84. One number is 5 times the other. What is the difference between them?

Then check together

The Answer

Reveal the Answer
56

Draw 1 unit and 5 units. Together 6 units = 84, so 1 unit = 14. The numbers are 14 and 70, and the difference is 4 units = 56. Note the difference can be read straight off the bars without finding either number.
