The Question

A coat costs £68 in a sale after a 15% discount. What was the price before the sale?

Then check together

The Answer

Reveal the Answer
£80

£68 represents 85%, not 100%. So 1% = £0.80 and 100% = £80. The wrong move — adding 15% to £68 — gives £78.20, which is worth showing and disproving.
