For British families living in the UAE, maintaining continuity with the UK curriculum is one of the most consistent academic priorities — and maths is where that continuity matters most. British curriculum maths tuition UAE online gives families in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and across the Emirates access to specialist tuition that is built around the same content, assessment style, and examination boards their children will ultimately face, whether they return to the UK for sixth form or university, or sit their exams at a British curriculum school in the region.

Why Online Tuition Works Particularly Well for UAE Families

The UAE has a well-established online learning infrastructure, and the majority of British expatriate families are already comfortable with high-quality video platforms and shared digital classrooms. What many are still searching for, however, is tuition that genuinely mirrors the standard of specialist support available in the UK — not a generic international service with a loose connection to the British curriculum.

Singapore Maths Academy works directly from the same specifications, textbooks, and past papers used by British curriculum schools. Our tutors are qualified teachers — not subject graduates or online freelancers — with deep experience of how UK maths exams work, what examiners are looking for, and where UAE-based students most commonly need to build on their classroom learning.

Lessons run via Zoom with an interactive online classroom in which both tutor and student can work on the same problems in real time. Each student has their own personal whiteboard within the session, and the tutor can see every stroke of their working — which is, in practice, better oversight than a physical classroom can provide. Nothing is passive.

What We Cover: From Year 3 to A-Level

We offer British curriculum maths tuition online for students from Year 3 through to A-level. The right programme depends on where your child is and where they are heading.

Primary Maths (Year 3–6)

At primary level, our teaching follows the Singapore Maths methodology — the Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA) approach that builds genuine mathematical understanding rather than procedural speed. Bar models, number bonds, and pictorial reasoning are central tools. Students who have been through this approach arrive at secondary school with the kind of deep understanding that makes algebra and problem-solving considerably more manageable. For families who may be thinking ahead to 11+ or UK grammar-school entry, this foundation is particularly valuable.

KS3 Maths (Year 7–9)

For secondary students still in KS3, our secondary maths tuition focuses on building the mathematical fluency and reasoning skills that GCSE demands. British curriculum schools in the UAE follow the same KS3 programmes of study as schools in the UK. Sessions are carefully structured to complement classroom learning — either filling gaps, extending able students, or providing the kind of focused practice that consolidates new topics quickly.

GCSE Maths

GCSE maths is a pivotal qualification for UAE-based British curriculum students. Whether your child is sitting Edexcel, AQA, or another board at a British school in the Emirates, the examination they face is identical to the one sat by students in the UK. Our GCSE maths tuition online is built entirely around the relevant specification — past papers, mark schemes, grade boundaries, and the specific topics that carry significant marks at each tier. You can also find practical guidance in our post on GCSE maths revision.

A-Level and IGCSE

For older students, we offer one-to-one A-level maths tuition and IGCSE maths support. A-level sessions are exclusively one-to-one — the depth of content and the individual nature of each student’s gaps makes group work impractical at this stage. IGCSE students are equally well served; the Edexcel and Cambridge IGCSE specifications are both within our tutors’ expertise.

The Right Fit for Expatriate Families

We have been working with British expatriate families in the UAE since the early years of Singapore Maths Academy — since 2014. Many of our UAE families come to us because they are preparing for a return to the UK, or because their child is applying to a UK university and needs to demonstrate strong GCSE and A-level results. Others simply want to ensure their child’s maths remains at the level expected by selective UK schools and universities, regardless of where they are based.

Our founder has delivered teacher training internationally — including in the UAE — and has a clear understanding of the curricular and cultural context that UAE families bring to these conversations. His wider work in maths education methodology and teacher training is documented at Bar Model Company. This is not a generic service repurposed for international students. It is one built with this audience genuinely in mind.

Getting Started

For UAE families, time zones are straightforward — Gulf Standard Time is four hours ahead of UK time, which puts UK evening sessions squarely within UAE afternoon and early evening slots. There are no scheduling obstacles that do not apply to UK families as well.

Group sessions for primary and KS3 students run in small groups of around four to five (max 8). One-to-one is available at every stage, including for primary-age children. Our team will match your child to the right format and the right tutor based on their year group, current level, and specific aims.

Our YouTube channel carries worked examples and explanations across several topics — worth a look if you want a sense of how our teaching actually sounds before committing to sessions.
