Not Just An Average Course – May 2024
Course Information
This two-day May half-term course covers the foundation of Averages (Mean, Mode & Median) as well as covering the range. A maximum of 10 spaces are available.
Who Is This For?
This course is intended to cover the foundations and challenging problem-solving questions that come up in 11+ Maths entrance exams and hence ideal for those who are in Year 5 preparing for their eleven plus entrance exams in either September 2024 (Grammar Schools) or later for Independent schools.
Pre-requisites
All children enrolling in this course must know how to confidently:
- Add and subtract
- Multiply and divide efficiently
As the lessons are online, we recommend a strong wired or WiFi internet connection. A touchscreen device (preferably with a large screen) for our Whiteboard and any other device for a Zoom call.
Course Structure
This is a two-day ONLINE course with each lesson 1 hour long, with an additional 10 minutes reserved (per lesson) for some children who may not have understood or need more time to complete other tasks. The entire course is for 2 hours.
Lessons will take place on Tuesday and Thursday at 10-11 am.
This course is for children who are currently in Year 4 or 5.
Homework
We will set homework at the end of the course and give children 1 week to complete it. Homework will be marked and sent back to parents for them to be able to gauge how well their children have understood the topics.
