Job Description

Hatch is currently hiring for an Account Strategist to join our team. In this role, you'll represent the client's perspective within the agency and drive the development of impactful campaigns. You'll combine research insights with creative thinking to ensure our work is innovative and effective.

Hatch is a full-service advertising agency, serving a wide variety of clients primarily located in the Midwest. We enjoy working with a variety of clients, and helping them succeed. We are always adding new clients to our roster each year, keeping every month interesting, and bringing new challenges for us to overcome.

We are a non-traditional work culture that is collaborative, laidback and autonomous in day-to-day workflows. Our office is located in the heart of Valley Junction in West Des Moines. Our team is primarily in-office, but we do have work from home days as well. We have monthly lunches celebrating birthdays, happy hours for collaborations, and other fun outings throughout the year to encourage friendships with fellow co-workers. We are a family-oriented business, focussed on having a solid work-life balance with very little work happening after 5pm. 

Responsibilities

  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with clients — becoming an extension of their team.
  • Develop insights-driven strategies that guide creative development and media planning.
  • Lead discovery sessions, brand workshops, and campaign kickoffs.
  • Craft strategic briefs that inspire bold thinking and breakthrough work.
  • Keep a pulse on client industries, trends, and audiences — translating knowledge into fresh ideas.
  • Collaborate with creatives, media planners, and digital specialists to bring campaigns to life.
  • Present strategies, concepts, and results with confidence and storytelling flair.
  • Keep projects moving forward on time, on budget, and on point.
  • Spot new opportunities for clients and for Hatch — and help turn them into action.

Ideal Candidate

  • 2–5 years of experience in an agency or similar creative environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfort working across brand, digital, social, and paid media spaces.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, CRM and project management software is a bonus.
  • Curiosity for brands, culture, and people — and the ability to turn that curiosity into insight.
  • Well organized and personally accountable.
  • A team player—interested in the success of the team and our clients.
