Job Description

Sr. Scheduler / Project Planner

The largest energy delivery company is looking for the next team member as a Sr. Scheduler / Project Planner for their Hybrid Team in Chicago, IL.

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (flexible)

Start Date: 7/28/2025

A Work Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating the daily work activities of a team or department.

Their primary duties include:

  • Planning C&M work for a utility company
  • Creating zones of protection
  • Working on the planning of standard C&M operations workload, especially for overhead construction (CM's and Design work)
  • Creating work schedules and assignments for employees based on priorities and deadlines.
  • Coordinating with internal departments and external contractors to schedule work activities.
  • Monitoring work progress and adjusting schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Assigning resources, such as personnel, equipment, and materials, to tasks.
  • Ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Communicating work schedules and assignments to team members and stakeholders.
  • Identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts or issues.
  • Providing guidance and support to team members to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in work planning and coordination.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Work Planners should have strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. They should also be able to work well in a team environment and have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Experience with work planning software and tools is often required.

Top 3 Skills Needed:

  • Understanding of electrical configuration
  • Electrical design work
  • Computer skills (Asset Suite, Excel, etc.)

Candidate MUST Haves:

  • Prior work experience planning C&M work for a utility company
  • Knowledge of creating zones of protection
  • Knowledge of material/equipment

Specific Experience (Technical/Software):

  • Asset Suite
  • Excel
  • MS Word
  • Electrical knowledge
  • System configuration (isolation/suspension)

Familiarity with ComEd work processes a plus!
