Key Responsibilities:
• Counsel corporate clients on state and federal employment law compliance
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, handbooks, and separation packages
• Lead internal investigations and advise on harassment and discrimination issues
• Represent clients before EEOC, DFEH, and other administrative bodies
• Handle all stages of litigation: pleadings, discovery, motions, hearings, trials
• Provide guidance on wage-and-hour audits and represent clients in class actions
• Conduct training and education on HR compliance and risk mitigation
• Partner with HR teams to advise on proactive legal strategies
Qualifications:
• Minimum 14 years of employment law experience
• Active California Bar membership
• Strong track record in employment litigation and employer counseling
• Exceptional multitasking, leadership, and client-relations skills
• Commercial judgment and business-oriented legal perspective
Education:
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
• Admission to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California (preferred)
• Active memberships in legal organizations such as the Labor & Employment Section
Skills:
• Advanced legal writing, research, and oral advocacy
• Deep understanding of FMLA, FLSA, FEHA, ADA, Title VII, and related laws
• Expertise in Westlaw, LexisNexis, and litigation management platforms
• Effective communicator with clients and internal teams
• Organized, self-driven, and experienced in mentoring junior attorneys
