Job Description

We're seeking a Florida-licensed Staff Attorney.

This is a full-time opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable clients, while developing as a litigator and advocate.

What You'll Do:

  • Take ownership of a full civil legal caseload, focusing on consumer and housing law matters , including landlord-tenant issues and homelessness prevention.
  • Provide comprehensive legal services: intake, advice, negotiation, litigation, and administrative advocacy.
  • Build and maintain specialized knowledge in consumer and housing law, with an equity-minded approach.
  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, mediations, and negotiations while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, community organizations, human services providers, courts, and the private bar to solve community legal problems and provide public education.
  • Supervise and mentor paralegals, legal assistants, and volunteers as needed.
  • Meet grant and program reporting requirements, maintain organized files, and stay current on legal developments and best practices in poverty law.
  • Contribute to outreach events and community education efforts, strengthening access to justice locally.

What We're Looking For:

  • Member in good standing of the Florida Bar .
  • Experience with civil litigation (including trial practice) through law school clinics and/or law firm work.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with Google and Microsoft applications.
