Are you passionate about driving a strong safety culture and making a meaningful impact on workplace health, safety, and environmental excellence? Sysco’s Redistribution Network is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Specialist to join our team in Alachua, FL.

In this role, you will support prevention-focused HSE and security programs, deliver critical training, assist with investigations, and help lead safety initiatives that support Sysco’s overarching Health, Safety, and Environmental objectives.

What You’ll Do

✔ Assist with implementing and promoting HSE and security programs

✔ Conduct and support new hire orientation training

✔ Maintain documentation and logs for safety programs

✔ Deliver HSE training to associates and leadership as directed

✔ Inspect facilities and equipment to identify risks and prevent unsafe conditions

✔ Participate in accident and injury investigations

✔ Help identify root causes and develop corrective actions

✔ Conduct coaching and observations of high-risk associates

✔ Support site leaders in executing HSE plans

✔ Promote a proactive, zero-incident safety culture

✔ Provide training on root cause analysis

✔ Interface with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state/local agencies

✔ Support completion of annual company-wide HSE training plan

✔ Assist with Emergency Preparedness procedures

✔ Maintain positive colleague relations to support safety engagement

What You Bring

🔹 Education: Associate’s degree preferred OR 2+ years of safety experience with OSHA certifications

🔹 Experience:

• 2+ years of hands-on safety experience in warehousing, manufacturing, or transportation
• Experience with Occupational Safety strongly preferred
• 🔹 Licenses:
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Ability to become certified on Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
• 🔹 Certifications:
• Working toward or holding recognized safety certifications preferred
