Step into the role of a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase and become a driving force behind the development and adoption of cutting-edge, cloud-based technologies.

As a Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Risk Engineering and Architecture group, you provide expertise to enhance and develop architecture platforms based on modern cloud-based technologies, as well as support the adoption of strategic global solutions. Leverage your advanced architecture capabilities and collaborate with colleagues across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes.

Our team sets and defines the architectural strategy and approach for support, resiliency, DevOps, and governance tooling across core platforms like Data, UI, workflow, and SRE. In this key role, you will consult and advise across the global organization, gaining a deep understanding of fundamental business problems and assisting in the implementation of well-architected blueprints and solutions.

Job responsibilities
  • Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies
  • Ensure Architectural Alignment for all software projects align with our organizational goals and technology standards
  • Guiding both front-end and back-end engineering teams, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and practices
  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Mitigate delivery and operations risks early in SDLC
  • Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design and application development
  • Expertise in one or more programming language(s)
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and enterprise architecture with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., risk, cloud, artificial intelligence etc.)
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience with influencing technical strategy
  • Significant experience and ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives
  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in Risk Management function of a financial services institution
  • Experience with deploying AI Tools for developers
  • Experience working in heavily regulated industry
  • Self-starter who can shape rough concepts into refined deliverables and deliverables
