Physical Therapy Aide

Brooklyn, NY

$20 Hourly

Sunday 11-6 Monday 11-6 Tuesday 12-7 Wednesday 12-7 Thursday 12-7

Position Summary:

The Physical Therapy Aide plays an essential support role in a busy clinical setting by assisting the physical therapy team with patient care preparation, equipment setup, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, physical stamina, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies prior to therapy sessions

2. Assist with positioning equipment and patients for treatment as directed by the therapist

3. Support patients with the use of exercise equipment and help them get in and out of the pool when aquatic therapy is used

4. Assist patients in performing prescribed exercises under the therapist’s guidance

5. Maintain a safe and clean environment by following infection control and facility policies

6. Monitor and maintain inventory of therapy supplies; notify director or coordinator of restocking needs

7. Reset therapy areas between patient sessions to ensure readiness for the next use

Skills, Education, and Experience:

• High School Diploma, College Diploma, or minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare or rehab setting

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to maintain professional hygiene and appearance

• Physically capable of assisting patients and performing tasks that involve standing, bending, and lifting

• Willingness to learn and take direction from licensed physical therapists
