Overview: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for managing the entire sales process from prospecting to closing, with strong collaboration from Inside Sales personnel for support as needed. The Outside Sales Representative is the point person in managing relationships with our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Relationship Management:
Build and nurture long-term relationships with new and existing clients, becoming their trusted point of contact for all sales-related needs.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the client experience, ensuring continued business success.
Regularly check in with clients to ensure their needs are being met and provide solutions to any challenges that arise.
Communicating effectively with each client throughout the sales cycle.
Work closely with the Inside Sales team to ensure the customer's voice is represented in product offerings, solutions, and service delivery.
Develop a deep understanding of each client's unique business needs and goals to offer tailored solutions that drive value and strengthen relationships.
Prospecting & Lead Generation:
Identify and call on potential customers to generate new business.
Share new products and services with existing and potential customers.
Set up and attend introductory meetings with new clients to explore business opportunities.
Attend networking events to build industry relationships and stay informed on market trends.
Review market reports to identify and pursue new opportunities for business growth.
Sales Process Management:
Review and analyze customer blueprints and perform take-offs, ensuring customer requirements are met with a high degree of accuracy.
Facilitate the product selection process, collaborating with Inside Sales as needed to ensure the best solutions for customers.
Coordinate with the Inside Sales team to provide timely and accurate quotes and estimates.
Handle revisions, orders, and any issues that arise during the sales process, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Order Management:
Oversee the ordering process, ensure all steps are completed in a timely manner and to client specifications.
Communicate any status updates with the client.
Complete all necessary paperwork in collaboration with the office staff to ensure accurate order processing, fulfillment and delivery.
Ensure all required documentation, including invoices and delivery confirmations, are completed and filed appropriately for tracking and record-keeping.
Customer Support & Warranty Management:
Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to product performance or warranty concerns.
Collaborate with the Service team to ensure smooth warranty processing and issue resolution.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in an outside sales role, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and internal teams.
Ability to manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting through to order completion and follow-up.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in reviewing prints, quotes, and orders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Familiarity with ERP and CRM tools is a plus.
