Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the construction industry to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects, ensuring code compliance, efficiency, and constructability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection , and utility systems for buildings and infrastructure.
  • Perform load calculations , equipment sizing, duct and pipe routing, and pressure drop analysis.
  • Develop and review mechanical design drawings, specifications, schematics, and schedules using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM tools.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers , and other disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
  • Review shop drawings, product submittals, and RFIs during the construction phase.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and field surveys to support design and construction.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, IMC , and local regulations.
  • Participate in value engineering , design reviews, and constructability reviews.
  • Provide technical support to project managers and construction teams.
  • Stay up to date with new technologies, sustainability standards, and industry best practices .

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech or equivalent).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of mechanical design experience in the construction or building services industry.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Trace 700 , or other HVAC and plumbing design software.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and understanding of construction processes.
  • Familiarity with LEED, green building design , and energy-efficient systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
