Job Summary

The Inventory Control & Logistics Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate tracking, handling, and movement of raw materials, components, and finished medical devices. This position supports operational excellence through efficient inventory management, compliance with global shipping regulations, and coordination of domestic and international logistics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in logistics processes within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Job Duties

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished medical devices.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Verify incoming shipments for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of laser equipment and spare parts, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to prevent shortages and manage stock levels efficiently.
  • Utilize ERP and WMS systems to track and manage inventory records and transactions.
  • Monitor inventory movements and shipments to maintain accurate data in inventory systems.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers to ensure optimized logistics performance.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international shipping regulations, including proper handling of sensitive medical equipment.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, sales, and service teams to forecast demand and allocate inventory as needed.
  • Prepare and manage customs documentation and import/export processes according to medical device regulatory standards.
  • Investigate and resolve shipment delays, damages, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support logistics process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory control, logistics, or supply chain roles, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of ERP (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience with domestic and international shipping, including familiarity with Incoterms, freight forwarding, and customs documentation.
  • Working knowledge of FDA, ISO 13485, and other relevant regulations related to medical device logistics.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, operations, and customer service teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
