HR Generalist / Recruiter – Home Care (Western Connecticut)

Location: Southbury (Primary location); Farmington, Norwalk, and Woodbridge as needed

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Compensation: Base salary range: $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. Performance-based bonus, paid time off, health plan, and a 401K.

Then consider this: FirstLight Home Care is undergoing rapid expansion, and we are looking to make a few strategic hires, including an HR Generalist, to help us build an interdisciplinary team to better serve our clients and grow our business.

You’ll be responsible for the company’s most important asset – its caregivers. You’ll manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations for our team of Home Health Aides (HHAs), Personal Care Assistants (PCAs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Companions.

What You’ll Do

• Lead full-cycle recruiting: post jobs, screen applicants, conduct interviews, and hire qualified caregivers.
• Manage onboarding, orientation, and compliance documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
• Support the Operations Manager with HR projects, employee engagement, and compliance tasks.
• Assist with scheduling coordination, communications, and performance tracking.
• Participate in quality-assurance activities to uphold agency standards.
• Liaise with the company’s operating personnel to ensure recruiting aligns with company needs.
• Collaborate with senior management to design and implement effective recruiting strategies.

What You Bring

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent preferred.
• 1 or more years of experience in HR or recruiting (home care or healthcare preferred).
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Analytical thinking and ability to connect the dots.
• Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred but not required.
