Heavy Equipment Field Technician – Civil Construction

Kinney Construction, LLC (KCS Civil) is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy equipment and trucks. This role requires proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, as well as a solid understanding of all related systems. The Heavy Equipment Field Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely while providing exceptional service. Perform periodic welding and fabrication on heavy machinery, attachments, and buckets. Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions and will include occasional out of town assignments. Strong communication skills (written and oral) are essential for describing equipment failures, conditions, and repair recommendations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose issues with equipment and perform necessary repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Document all maintenance activities and repairs performed on equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with field crews regarding repair status.
  • Promote corporate values
  • Work safely and follow all policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Class A CDL.
  • 1.5 – 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Own and utilize required personal tooling.
  • Understand safe operation of mobile crane.
  • Be able to safely utilize tooling, including rigging (chains, straps, slings).
  • Maintain company equipment.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screening and physical.
