Job Description

Aquila's Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fitness and wellbeing programming and operations on a corporate client account. The Fitness Program Manager works together with on-site staff to create and implement strategic plans for a successful group fitness program, programming, initiatives, and strategies that support Aquila’s values and mission and ensure all contract deliverables are met. Areas of focus include: customer service, fitness and wellbeing programming, talent management, performance management, strategic thinking, leading and empowering others.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise personal trainers and group fitness instructors.
  • Schedule and manage staff to ensure proper coverage and high-quality service.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and ongoing training

Program Management:

  • Develop and implement fitness programs, wellness initiatives, and challenges.
  • Oversee group fitness schedules and ensure classes meet member needs.
  • Teach group fitness classes and conduct personal fitness training sessions for members Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
  • Drive personal training and fitness program sales to meet monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Track performance metrics and report on KPIs.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure exceptional service by addressing member concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a positive and motivating environment for members and staff.
  • Conduct fitness consultations and assessments as needed.

Facility Oversight:

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment functionality.
  • Enforce gym policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field preferred.
  • Nationally recognized personal training certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NCSF).
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fitness management or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record in sales and fitness program development.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Active participation in fitness activities and demonstrations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and be physically active for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour, plus personal training commissions.

Expected hours: 40 per week

The work hours are Monday through Friday. Candidates must be able to work both 6 am - 2 pm and at least one day a week 12 pm - 8 pm on alternating days.
