We're on a mission to revolutionize the pet care experience and are looking for an experienced and compassionate leader to oversee day-to-day operations of a pet wellness retail center. This individual will guide store strategy, lead a diverse and high-performing team, and ensure an exceptional experience for pets, pet parents, and staff alike.

Position Summary

You'll lead all facets of center operations—from sales and customer engagement to staff training, animal care, and compliance. You'll manage team leaders and associates while maintaining operational excellence, maximizing profitability, and ensuring animal welfare is always prioritized. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone passionate about animals, business operations, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and mentor a team that delivers top-tier service and embodies a culture of care
  • Recruit, train, and retain talent while fostering growth and advancement
  • Create a welcoming, collaborative, and inclusive work environment
  • Coach team members on selling techniques and operational best practices
  • Manage employee performance, providing feedback and corrective action when needed

Sales & Performance Management

  • Achieve or surpass financial goals, including revenue targets and cost controls
  • Analyze performance reports and implement improvement strategies as needed
  • Plan and execute local marketing events and community engagement efforts
  • Manage labor and staffing to align with sales volumes and store needs

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure safe, healthy, and humane treatment of all animals in the store
  • Oversee inventory levels, product presentation, and pricing strategy
  • Submit accurate payroll, budget, and inventory documentation on schedule
  • Uphold brand standards for cleanliness, safety, and store presentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, especially related to safety, loss prevention, and emergency operations

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role; retail preferred
  • Proven experience in staff development, customer service, and operations
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to interpret financial reports
  • Passion for animals and a working knowledge of pet care best practices
  • Valid driver’s license
