Job Description

Brown & Brown is seeking a Financial Consultant to join our growing team in Plano, TX!

The Financial Consultant leads and oversees the servicing of financial consulting needs for employee benefit clients. Utilizes industry knowledge and expertise to retain clients by providing financial, industry trend, and strategic insights guiding clients through impactful benefit changes. Independently evaluates financial and utilization metrics for clients including but not limited to monthly financial reports, utilization metrics and benchmarks as well as assist in negotiating renewal proposals and preparing and recommending plan changes and/or alternative funding recommendations.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Oversight of monthly financial reports
  • Develop reporting requirements and any customizations in those reports.
  • Support Benefit Consultants in preparing requests for meetings including coverages & contracts.
  • Participate in prospective client finalist presentations to represent the Brown & Brown financial strategy
  • Performing demographic analysis, claims reviews, and other projects on prospective clients
  • Performs miscellaneous duties and projects. This includes involvement in presentations at client functions and meetings.

License and Certifications:

  • Texas Life & Health (or willing to obtain in the first 3 months from start date)

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking ability from industry experience
  • Ability to work independently and exercise judgment
  • Strong knowledge of and relationships with vendors
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Microsoft Excel – Strong to Expert level skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • 3-5 years of employee benefits experience.
  • Employee benefits in either stop loss, broker, or carrier industries
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
