Job Description

Position Overview

The Director of Recruiting will lead Talent Corps’ national recruiting operations for W2 project-based tradespeople across the U.S., managing both a centralized recruiting team and six field recruiters. This role ensures accurate job order intake, candidate fulfillment, and start-date execution in close partnership with the Sales team.

This position requires a leader who thrives in high-volume, fast-paced environments where priorities shift rapidly and cross-functional alignment is critical. The ideal candidate brings operational foresight, people leadership, and deep knowledge of the construction staffing landscape.

Key Responsibilities

National Recruiting Team Leadership

  • Lead and scale a dual-structure recruiting team: centralized recruiters and field-based recruiters across key markets. Provide hands-on training and coaching to maximize team performance.
  • Leverage lead recruiters to drive coordination, peer development, and process consistency.
  • Build unified workflows while honoring the operational nuances of each team.
  • Develop performance dashboards, KPIs, and coaching rhythms to drive consistent outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and urgency across the recruiting function.

Technology Champion

  • Serve as the recruiting function’s lead advocate for leveraging technology to accelerate fulfillment and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Maximize use of ATS, CRM platforms, and AI-enabled sourcing tools to improve workflows and candidate targeting.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to evaluate technologies that improve time-to-fill, candidate engagement, and compliance.
  • Develop systems that support a “bench” of job-ready tradespeople across key markets.
  • Ensure data hygiene and visibility across platforms to support redeployment and workforce planning.

Sales Partnership & Fulfillment Ownership

  • Coordinate with Sales to define, qualify, and prioritize job orders.
  • Structure the job intake process with required details, timelines, and escalation protocols.
  • Forecast labor demand in partnership with Sales to guide sourcing and readiness planning.
  • Own accuracy and timeliness of candidate delivery and start-date commitments.

Sales Integration & Fulfillment Fluidity

  • Navigate varying degrees of recruiter involvement across Sales, building trust and engagement consistency.
  • Resolve handoff gaps and misalignment between Sales and Recruiting.
  • Manage labor order flow between field recruiters (often first point of contact) and centralized recruiters (handling overflow and direct assignments).
  • Adjust team workloads proactively to address shifting priorities and prevent missed placements or duplication.

Process Design & Optimization

  • Standardize the recruiting lifecycle—from job order receipt to jobsite arrival—with clear roles, timelines, and data checkpoints.
  • Use ATS and CRM systems to improve recruiter efficiency and candidate tracking.
  • Identify friction points in the recruiting funnel and implement solutions to improve speed and quality.

Pipeline & Candidate Readiness Strategy

  • Lead sourcing strategy to maintain a steady pipeline of qualified tradespeople in high-demand roles and markets.
  • Empower recruiters to build and maintain local and regional pipelines focused on jobsite readiness (e.g., compliance, availability, certifications).
  • Implement systems to track candidate readiness, redeployment status, and drop-off risk.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure all recruiting practices comply with labor law, OSHA, E-Verify, and internal W2 policies.
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Field Ops to streamline pre-employment compliance and onboarding.
  • Support diversity and inclusion through equitable sourcing strategies and bias-minimized screening.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience : 10+ years in recruiting, including 4+ years managing teams (multi-site or remote).
  • Industry : Strong preference for construction staffing or project-based recruiting environments.
  • Leadership : Proven success coaching managers, leading through ambiguity, and driving accountability in distributed teams.
  • Vision insurance

Experience:

  • Recruitment : 10 years (Required)
  • Leadership: 5 years (Required)
  • Complex, real-time customer facing pressure: 5 years (Required)

Location:

  • Plano, TX 75024 - In Office
