Compliance Manager – Position Overview

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to lead our bank’s compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role partners closely with leadership, regulators, and teams across the organization.

You’ll be responsible for assessing compliance risks, developing controls, managing remediation plans, and supporting audits and exams. You’ll also help ensure a strong control environment across the bank and play a key role in issue remediation and regulatory response.

4 days onsite in Downtown SF - 120-150k base

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Oversight: Monitor and interpret banking regulations (e.g., Fair Lending, UDAP, CRA, Privacy, FDIC, DFPI). Ensure policy and procedural alignment with laws and guidelines.
• Risk & Controls: Conduct compliance risk assessments, testing, and assist in control development across the first and second lines of defense.
• Remediation & Issue Tracking: Draft and manage remediation plans, escalate issues as needed, and ensure timely resolution.
• Policy & Training: Develop and update compliance policies. Support training efforts and serve as a resource on compliance matters.
• Reporting: Prepare management and board reports. Support regulatory exam preparation and responses.
• BSA/AML: Assist the BSA Officer with special projects and ongoing compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
• 5+ years in commercial and consumer banking compliance.
• Strong knowledge of banking laws, with a focus on lending and deposits; BSA/AML knowledge a plus.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a small-team, multi-tasking environment.
• CRCM preferred or willingness to obtain within one year.
