Job Description

Our client based in Columbus Ohio is looking for a Community Associate to join their team.

Hours: 10am-3pm.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:

  • Manage the intake and tracking of grant requests from more than 200 nonprofit organizations annually.
  • Maintain accurate records and organize data for applications, awards, budgets, and post-grant follow-up.
  • Prepare materials and packets for bi-monthly Philanthropy Committee meetings.
  • Research nonprofit applicants and assist in agenda development with internal stakeholders.
  • Track giving activity and align contribution data across platforms and systems.
  • Recommend and support process improvements to increase the efficiency and impact of community programs.
  • Coordinate details related to ticket distribution, RSVP tracking, and event logistics.
  • Attend community events if needed, support event registration and participation tracking.
  • Serve as a liaison to nonprofit partners and community event organizers.
  • Assist in matching employees with nonprofit board and committee opportunities.
  • Support the logistics of board service training sessions and maintain program records.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for DEI Committee meetings and initiatives.
  • Track progress on DEI-related action items and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Partner with the Director of Community Impact to improve internal systems, platforms, and workflows.
  • Serve as a thought partner, contributing ideas to enhance community impact efforts.

Experience and Skills :

  • High school diploma.
  • 3+ years of administrative, nonprofit, philanthropic, or community engagement experience preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a systems-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in navigating and reconciling multiple data sources (Excel proficiency required).
  • Experience or interest in working with grant or donation management platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel); familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and event tracking tools is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time with minimal oversight.
  • Collaborative and curious – asks questions, offers ideas, and enjoys working as a thought partner.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong interpersonal awareness with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
