About the Role

VMSC is seeking a skilled and passionate Advanced Clinical Educator to lead the delivery of high-quality prehospital education. This full-time role is responsible for planning, instructing, and managing all phases of our A-EMT and Paramedic education programs, while supporting clinical competency across our EMS workforce.

You will report to the Director of Education and work closely with our Medical Director and affiliate partners. Your leadership in education and training ensures that our EMS professionals are clinically excellent, well-prepared, and fully aligned with the latest state, national, and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prehospital Education Leadership

  • Instruct and facilitate A-EMT and Paramedic-level courses through lectures, labs, simulations, and scenario-based learning.

  • Supervise and evaluate student performance in classroom, lab, clinical, and field settings.

  • Provide timely feedback, mentorship, remediation, and student support.

  • Develop and maintain curriculum and lesson plans aligned with CoAEMSP, NEMS Education Standards, and PA DOH protocols.

  • Support accreditation activities and compliance reporting using platforms such as FISDAP, Platinum Planner, and ESO.

  • Coordinate clinical and field rotations and manage instructional logistics.

  • Assist with certification exams, NREMT preparation, and documentation.

Clinical Education and Staff Competency Support

  • Plan and deliver in-house clinical education, skills refreshers, and competency assessments.

  • Conduct hands-on drills, coaching, and performance reviews to support field staff proficiency.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of staff training and credentialing.

  • Collaborate with clinical partners to ensure high-quality, meaningful training experiences.

  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across VMSC.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Certified Pennsylvania Paramedic
  • Minimum 3 years of ALS field experience
  • PA EMS Instructor certification
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS provider and instructor certifications (or instructor within 90 days)
  • Knowledge of National EMS Education Standards and PA ALS protocols

Preferred:

  • Previous EMS teaching experience
  • Familiarity with CoAEMSP accreditation standards
  • Proficiency in Canvas, FISDAP, Platinum Planner, or clinical tracking systems

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate EMS skills in classroom/lab settings
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to affiliate sites
  • Occasional evenings, weekends, and off-site instruction as needed
